PB inspired basket

I really wanted the PB Easter basket without the price. I went to the thrift store and bought 2 baskets for $4. Them to the fabric store and bought polka dot material for $6. I made
the basket liners and for $5 a basket I have the look I wanted.

Playroom wanna-be

We decided to turn our little blank corner into a semi play area.
Before.  It had nothing.  We used to have our dining room table here but finally moved it into the dining room.

We bought the cheap $25 wooden table and chairs from ikea 2 years ago but the white surface became very dirty... My solution? To paint chalk board paint on the top and a fun turquoise on the rest.  We also had the chalk board from before we were married about 8 years ago.  I couldn't handle the ugly-ness of it and decided it needed to become turquoise also! The mail boxes are from the dollar spot at target, and will eventually hold markers and crayons.

The seats were getting scratched, so I decided to recover them with this super cute red polka dot material.  I put the table on an oil cloth remnant that I found a few weeks ago.

and then we added a train table

Onsie Dress

I was bored this evening and was browsing pintrest, I started browsing baby girl dresses (you know cause I have 2 boys and can only dream) and then browsed onsie dress to see what would come up.  I saw a couple of tutorials but nothing that I loved.  I figured out the basic measurements and created one of the cutest dressed I've ever sewn! Love Love Love it!

Insta-Gram

Both of my boys napped at the same time on Monday and I was able to bust out my sewing machine!

To sew some super cute headbands.  The tutorial called for a large stick to push out the seams, I thought I wouldn't be able to find a stick until I looked down and saw my little guys drum stick! Worked perfectly!

Our first flower in our garden!
When my boys were napping yesterday, I decided to organize ALL our baby clothes, there was over 10 boxes.  It took me 3 hours and one VERY grumpy husband

Here is the result to all my organizing, all the baby clothes are organized by size and gender. WHEW! glad thats over!
life rearranged

Baby Towel

We now have an infant in our house (ok he came 2 months ago but I'm a bit behind on sewing projects) and I decided to make him a little version of my hooded towels.  I hate how baby towels never really seem to get the job done and they never seem to really cover the baby either, so I'm hoping that this actually does the job!
I made it out of a hand towel and a wash cloth.  Its pretty small but Oh So Cute!
I couldn't decide how to finish it until I went to Joann's and found this cute ribbon.  I'm normally not a sports person but this ribbon was amazing!

A new towel for "mister T"

A few years ago, we met a new family at church when their son was around 1.  At the time their son looked JUST like Mister T and we began calling him that.  Well for his next birthday, I made him a "mister T" hooded towel.  He loved it at the time but after a about a year of calling him Mister T, he proclaimed "I'm Jacob not Mister T". And since that day, we've had to call him Jacob.  Only problem is Jacob still has a Mister T towel, so for his 4th birthday I finally made him a "Jacob" towel!
I love how it turned out! Very simple yet super cute for a little boy!
